What band or singer
do you think Al should parody next?:
Moby! :)
What song do you think Al should
parody next?: "Porcelain"
by Moby. Or, a quirky song that gets in your head and annoys
you 'till you listen to it 929 times just to get it out of your
head but it sticks there anyway and drives you crazy.
What band or singer do you think
Al should style parody next?: Hmmm... someone with
a flair for style and originality, who writes their own songs
and keeps it real, even if their record deal is hanging on the
next song they produce.
What song or band do you think
Al should include in a polka next?: I would like
to hear a polka version of any song by the Dave Matthews Band.
That would be really fun to listen to.
Who would you like
to hear cover an Al song and what song would it be?:
I know I'm talking crazy here, but I think 'N Sync could do
a rather spiffy cover of Melanie. It would expose a lot of people
to Al's talent as an original writer, because 'N Sync would
turn it into a smash hit.
What song would you
like to see a video for that doesn't have one?:
Your Horoscope For Today, or maybe The Night Santa Went Crazy
(Extra Gory Version)
What TV show would
you like to see Al guest star in next?:
The Simpsons, and then after that, The Weakest Link
How did you first
hear about Al?: I heard LAS on
VH1 in 1994. My dad later came into the room saying "Is that
"Weird Al Yankovich?" and I said "Well, looks like his name
is pronounced Yankovic, dad." Then in 1996, my sister's ex boyfriend
said I'd love Al's music and I didn't really connect LAS to
Al until I listened to DTBS.
What's the story behind that?:
My sisters' ex-boyfriend Aaron lent me a tape of Bad Hair Day
and told me to listen to the last song on the second side. So
I discovered that I really had no idea what the heck Al was
parodying (sorry guys!) with that song and so I looked at the
J-card and discovered that it was an original. So I flipped
the tape over and listened some more. By the time Since You've
Been Gone came on I was hooked on Al. I then exchanged BHD with
him for DTBS, which is when I recognized LAS.
Have you been to
an Al concert?: Yes.
If so, how many?: Seven.
Concert Experience Story:
The first concert I went to happened by accident. My family
had decided to go to the fair that day, and it turned out to
be the last date on the Bad Hair Tour. So my sister's ex convinced
my mom to let me go to the concert and I loved it! Then TWS
came around and I saw three concerts on that tour, and two of
them were at the same venue as the BHT concert. Then, in July
of 2002, I went to California with my friend CindyBob, and we
saw three Al concerts at the Orange County Fair.
Have you ever met
Al?: Why, of course! Three times,
in fact!
If so, do you have a story?:
First time I met him was at the AlCon autograph signing, the
second was backstage at the Orange County show on Thursday,
July 25th, and the third time I met him was when my friend CindyBob
gave me a backstage pass for the night after that.
Have you ever met any of the band?:
Yes!
If so, who?: I've met
Bermuda three times, Miles and Steve Jay twice, and the rest
of the band once each.
Do you have a story?:
The first two times I met Bermuda were at AlCon, and the third
time I was with my friend CindyBob, who attracted really good
luck, and very close CPFoA's throughout the OC trip. Bermuda
couldn't remember CindyBobs' name when we were backstage on
Friday, even though he had met her at AlCon. So, later on, he
came out with a couple broken drumsticksand gave them to CindyBob!
Then she gave one to me! :O
Have you ever tried
a Twinkie Weiner Sandwich?: Yes
If so, what did you think?:
Very tasty, Grossed my mom out completely. She bet me that I
couldn't eat two TWS's in one sitting, so I sat down in front
of her with a couple TWS's and I ate them!
Do you collect Al
items?: Yes
If so, what's your favorite/most
valuable item?: The most valuable would have to be
the seven editions of Midnight Star I got off of E-bay. My favorite
items are the Year Of The Al Shirt that my friend Bob designed,
that I took to both Orange County and AlCon, and got covered
with signatures. Another favorite item of mine is the backstage
pass I got on Friday, July 26th which was signed by Miles, Steve,
Jay, Suzanne, Al, Bermuda, Ruben, and Jim.
Anything else
we should know about you?: I am a very loquacious
Bob. If I was in a band, I would want to be a drummer, just
like Bermuda. Also, I would never have heard of Tom Lehrer if
one of my friends had not been searching for the oldies equivalent
of "Weird Al" and found it.
Have you made a Parody?:
Yep, I'm working on two! :D
Name of Parody:
"I Like Your Car" and "Kickin' It Old School"
Original singers: Sir
Mix-A-Lot and Ben Folds
Original titles:
"Baby Got Back" and "Rockin' The Suburbs"
New Lyrics: I'll post
them here when I'm finished, 'kay?
