How did you first
hear about Al?: I used
to listen to
the Dr. Demento radio show and heard Weird Al. Then I
started seeing Eat It on MTV.

an Al concert?: Aye the
Bad Hair Day
and Running with Scissors tours
If so, how many?: Three
(The BHD shows were at
Hersheypark, and the RwS concert was in my hometown)
Have you ever met
Al?: Indeed. And I will
never forget
it.
If so, do you have a story?:
Al made an appearance at
a local record store before his Bad Hair Day shows at
Hersheypark. My friend Pete made me go along and I'm
glad he did. The place was absolutely insane but
somehow Pete and I managed to push our way through the
throngs. And there he was....Al. Al in all his
glory. I was so in awe I couldn't speak. Pete
grabbed my BHD cd out of my hand and all of a sudden
dropped to his knees in an "I'm-not-worthy" gesture
with both our cds in his hands. Little did I know
that a stealthphotographer hovered nearby. The photo
of Pete and I ran the next day and it was
hilarious--Al, Pete on his knees, me standing next to
Pete with my hand on his shoulder and an incredibly
exalted look on my face...like I was looking into the
face of God. I think I did manage to tell Al that I
appreciated his talent.
